It’s Oktoberfest here at “Still Misbehaving LIVE.” (Yes, we know it’s only the first of the month, but it’s been Oktoberfest in Munich since mid-September!)
So that means that in addition to great swinging big band music and jazzy vocals, we have some oom-pah polka music just for you. The Jazzy Soundcheck features Oscar Peterson, Stan Kenton, and Walter Wanderley. Then, Frankie Yankovic, Walter Ostanek, and even Bobby Vinton are going to sing to you about beer. You’ll also get to enjoy Julie London, Glenn Miller, Tony Bennett, Django Reinhardt, Royal Crown Revue, Terry Cashman, Harry Connick Jr., Jimmy Dorsey, and a whole lot more.
Grab a bratwurst and a beverage and join us. Don’t forget to leave your comments and requests for next week below.
If you’re in need of some fun and frivolity, we have Stooges – and lots of great music – on this episode of “Still Misbehaving.” Joe Jackson will be singing about five guys named Moe and, if you tune in LIVE, you’ll get to see Moe in action.
The Jazzy Soundcheck features Wynton Marsalis, and Cannonball Adderley with Sergio Mendes. Then it will be time to swing and boogie with Donald O’Connor, Tony Bennett, Dooley Wilson, Kay Starr, Pink Martini, Rosemary Clooney, Keely Smith, Bill Haley, Bobby Caldwell, Nancy Wilson, Sue Raney, a Double Shot of Sinatra, and much more.
Enjoy, and don’t forget to leave your comments and requests for next week below.
This show is one of our BIGGEST of the year!!! Honestly. Yes, it’s our 13th Annual We Love New York Show!
The episode is full of great New York-centric music that celebrates some of the highlights of a city that doesn’t sleep and it always swinging. Tune in and you’ll take a stroll down the Sidewalks of New York, be serenaded with some street corner harmonies on The Streets of the Bronx, and even spin around the floor at Studio 54.
The Jazzy Soundcheck features The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Herb Alpert, and Tito Puente. After that you can swing and shuffle to Nat King Cole, Billy Joel, Larry Chance & The Earls, Louis Prima, Peggy Lee, Sammy Davis Jr., Dinah Washington, Red Norvo, Tony Bennett, The Drifters, and much more.
So grab a subway token, a Manhattan, your poodle skirt, and disco shoes and enjoy! Don’t forget to leave your comments and requests for next week below.
This may be the last week of summer, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop.
Listen to this episode and you can enjoy some big band brass, the sounds of summer oldies, crooner favorites, and even a few Latin and bossa nova inspired numbers.
All perfect for your summer party – or moment in the sun.
You’ll hear Pink Martini, Glenn Miller, Harry James, Fats Domino, Tito Puente, Michael Buble, Dorothy Dandridge, Spike Jones, Bobby Caldwell, Astrid Gilberto, and more. LIVE on Saturday at 8 pm (The Jazzy Soundcheck features Stan Kenton and Herb Alpert) or On Demand whenever you want.
