Winter time is starting to settle in a bit, which means we need a touch of swing time to warm things up. Listen to this episode of big band and vocal favorites and you can enjoy Tony Bennett, Connie Francis, Benny Goodman, Lou Rawls, Peggy Lee, Pink Martini, Louis Jordan, Tom Jones, a Double Shot of Sinatra, and a whole lot more.

Thank you for featuring Jim Croce’s “Operator” as your “Moose Lodge Moment” last week! Hard to believe that song is now half a century old (I guess the part where he mentions a phone call costing 10 cents gives it away!) As you probably know, Mr. Croce was a Philadelphia native, so probably was very familiar with your part of NJ.
Wow! Loved that song about the Texas & Pacific RR! I have actually BEEN to the T&P Station in downtown Fort Worth, TX several times – that’s where you can catch the Trinity Railway Express commuter train between Fort Worth and Dallas! Amazing how many OTHER railroads he mentions at the beginning of that song, including the Northern Pacific (which was the first railroad to reach Seattle in 1873). It was known as the “Main Street of the Northwest”!
